Job description

The School of Arts & Sciences at the University of Mount Olive seeks applicants for a 9.5-month, full-time, faculty position to teach Exercise Science and related coursework. This position will be assigned to the Division of Sport and Social Sciences within the School of Arts & Sciences and will report directly to the Assistant Dean of the Division.

This in-person faculty position requires a presence on the UMO campus in Mount Olive, NC, and will be responsible for advising, teaching, and supervising majors enrolled in the Exercise Science program. This faculty member must be qualified to teach lecture and laboratory courses in Exercise Science, Health, Physiology, Kinesiology, and Biomechanics, as well as supervise practicums and internships. Based on education and professional experience, the faculty member may be assigned additional courses in related disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree, in Exercise Science or closely related field
  • Experience utilizing a Learning Management System to create, organize, and deliver course content.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are essential to effectively work with students and faculty.

The following qualifications are also preferred:

  • Doctorate in Exercise Science or related field
  • Previous teaching experience at the college level is preferred, particularly at a CAAHEP-accredited program (or similarly accredited program)

The University of Mount Olive requires candidates to be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future visa sponsorship.
