Job Description
Position Summary:
Adjunct Instructors within the Exercise Science & Wellness Department will be responsible for teaching part-time undergraduate and/or graduate courses in exercise science, kinesiology, wellness, fitness, nutrition, or related health sciences. The adjunct faculty member supports student learning through instruction, assessment, mentoring, and professional expertise in the field. All Instructors within the Exercise Science & Wellness department are responsible for providing high-quality instruction in exercise science and related disciplines while supporting student achievement while maintaining high academic standards. This position requires subject matter expertise, a proven record of effective teaching practices, and a commitment to fostering an engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned exercise science courses in areas such as:
  1. Exercise Program Design
  2. Exercise Physiology
  3. Biomechanics
  4. Sports Nutrition
  5. Kinesiology
  6. Strength and Conditioning
  7. Wellness and Fitness Assessment
  8. Coaching & Leadership
  • Prepare course materials, lectures, assignments, and assessments
  • Deliver instruction in classroom or experiential settings
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback
  • Maintain accurate attendance and grade records
  • Hold office hours or provide student support as required
  • Follow departmental policies and academic standards
  • Stay current with developments in exercise science and related fields

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or a related field required
  • Doctorate preferred
  • Previous college-level teaching experience preferred
  • Professional certifications may be preferred, such as: ACSM, NSCA-CSCS, NASM
  • Strong communication and instructional skills
  • Experience with online learning platforms is a plus
