The University of Lynchburg, a private, regional university in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, is seeking applicants for two tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor positions in the Exercise Physiology program. Candidates must be motivated individuals with a passion for teaching undergraduate students. The Exercise Physiology program is dedicated to excellence in pedagogy, scholarship, and professional service. We seek candidates who will uphold our tradition of academic rigor and foster a culture of meaningful student engagement, ensuring our graduates are exceptionally prepared for both professional practice and advanced graduate studies

Job Purpose: The University of Lynchburg School of Medicine and Health Sciences is seeking candidates for two tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor positions in the Exercise Physiology program. Candidates must be motivated individuals with a passion for teaching undergraduate students. The Exercise Physiology program is dedicated to excellence in pedagogy, scholarship, and professional service. We seek candidates who will uphold our tradition of academic rigor and foster a culture of meaningful student engagement, ensuring our graduates are exceptionally prepared for both professional practice and advanced graduate studies.ย ย ย ย 

Job Specific Duties:ย 

  • Teach undergraduate courses in the Exercise Physiology program
  • Supervise and mentor student research projects
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Exercise Physiology department on curriculum developmentย 
  • Applying best practices to facilitate teaching and learning processes and principles with a commitment to continuous quality improvement
  • Documenting student learning, interpreting outcomes, and recording grades.
  • Assisting with student recruitment, admission, and retention.
  • Maintaining accurate and appropriate student, instructor, course, and program documentation.
  • Establishing and maintaining professional and ethical boundaries with students, co-workers, and others in all learning environments.
  • Participating in University service and events.
  • Perform other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Dean.ย 

Required Qualifications/Education:

  • A Master's with 18 graduate credit hours in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or related field is required; PhD is preferred.ย  ABD candidates will be considered.
  • Professional certification such as ACSM-EP or NSCA-CSCS
  • A primary interest in teaching undergraduates at a liberal arts institution is a must.
  • Previous teaching experience is desired.

Teaching Load:
