Category Management Senior Manager: IT Infrastructure and Security Hardware/Software/Maintenance and Telecommunication Services

Overview

The IT Infrastructure and Security & Telecom Services and Hardware Category Management & Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager is accountable for end-end sourcing and contracting of IT and Security hardware, software, maintenance and telecom carrier services across Cigna. This area accounts for approximately $675 million in annual spend. Responsibilities include driving sourcing strategies, managing the competitive bid process, recommending a supplier that best meets the business objectives, and delivering a negotiated contract that governs the supplier relationship.

The Senior Manager will lead a team of U.S. and international based Cigna employees that support procurement. The team executes contracts of varying sizes and complexities. Contracting includes master service agreements, statements of work, contract amendments and/or renewals.The team also coordinates the involvement of internal stakeholders such as operations, IT, legal, information protection, and privacy. The Senior Manager is an escalation point for the team in navigating decisions and actions of these internal stakeholders. It's also expected that some of the more complicated deals will be led by the Senior Manager.

A successful Senior Manager must balance team management and project prioritization, with reducing supplier fees and improving service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop annual category plans that include supplier market trends, spend analysis, and strategic business objectives.
  • Proactively identify, develop, and execute supplier enabled projects that drive cost savings, risk reduction and quality improvement.
  • Lead, manage, and coach a team of professionals
  • Execute Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Change Orders, Amendments and Renewals that optimize benefits and minimize risks to Cigna.
  • Engage theThird Party(Supplier) Management team to create and manage mutually beneficial long term supplier partnerships, while consolidating the existing supplier base.
  • Support scheduled and ad-hoc reporting on supplier and category performance.
  • Support continuous improvement of the sourcing and procurement process.
  • Maintain and promote sound relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as a valued advisor to business buyers of consulting and professional services.

Qualifications

  • BA / BS in Business, Supply Chain, or related field; or relevant work experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience within a large, global organization.
  • Excellent project management, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Structured problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Ability to apply fact - based negotiation principles and tactics.
  • Fundamental understanding of corporate and administrative supply chains.
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
  • Previous people management experience is preferred
  • Cross-functional business team environment experience preferred with an ability to foster working relationships with the team and across internal departments.

This position includes regular contact with the following:

  • Executive leaders of strategic initiatives that require consulting support
  • Directors and Managers of projects that align to strategic initiatives
  • Managing Director, Senior Director, Director and Senior Advisor staff within Global Procurement & Third-Party Management
  • Matrix Partner Directors, Managers and Specialists
  • Supplier sourcing and contracting teams

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 126,500 - 210,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
