Position Summary:
The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the Company's sourcing, procurement, and supplier-management strategy to ensure reliable supply, effective risk management, strong working-capital performance, and sustainable cost advantage. This role oversees strategic supplier relationships, commercial negotiations, contract governance, procurement operations, and continuous improvement initiatives while leveraging analytics, technology, and market intelligence to create long-term business value. The position serves as a key partner to operations, finance, and executive leadership in supporting safe, efficient, and profitable business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead strategic sourcing, commercial negotiations, and contract management for critical goods and services.
Develop and execute category strategies that optimize cost, supply continuity, working capital, and operational performance.
Build and manage strategic supplier relationships while overseeing performance, risk, and compliance.
Deliver cost savings, standardization, and procurement leverage opportunities across operations.
Utilize analytics, market intelligence, AI, and automation to enhance procurement effectiveness and decision-making.
Mitigate supply chain risk through sourcing strategies, supplier diversification, and inventory planning.
Govern contracts, pricing, vendor master data, procurement controls, and Delegation of Authority compliance.
Partner with Treasury and Accounts Payable to support cash flow management and vendor payment planning.
Lead and develop the sourcing team while fostering a high-performance culture.
Own and continuously improve Source-to-Contract (S2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
Report procurement performance, savings opportunities, and strategic risks to senior leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
Significant experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or commercial leadership roles.
Proven success negotiating complex agreements and managing critical supplier relationships.
Strong commercial, analytical, financial, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
Experience with SAP, P2P, S2C, contract management, and procurement technologies.
Knowledge of analytics, AI, and automation applications in procurement.
Demonstrated leadership ability and sound judgment in managing commercial and operational risk.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, finance, engineering, or related field preferred.
Mining, energy, manufacturing, or heavy industry experience preferred.
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Location and Travel: Sandy, Utah, with regular travel to regional sites and occasional interstate travel to vendor facilities and trade shows.
The successful candidate will be commercially minded, analytical and practical, with the ability to balance cost, quality, reliability, liquidity and operational continuity.
