An executive personal assistant handles the daily organizational and administrative duties for an executive or corporate manager in a company or corporation. It is their job to oversee the management of the executive’s schedule, arrange meetings, and perform clerical tasks. Most executive assistant positions require a GED certificate or high school diploma. Some employers will prefer a college education and seek candidates with an associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or management. A master’s degree or higher is not needed for this role. An executive personal assistant needs exceptional customer service skills and must be highly organized.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an executive personal assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Executive Personal Assistant, you need exceptional organizational skills, time management, discretion, and often a relevant degree or administrative certification. Familiarity with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite), calendar management tools, and sometimes project management platforms is typically required.
