About the location:

Each stylish villa and residence feature its own private garden and pool - just like the home for the Resort's resident giant tortoises. After a day exploring the Indian Ocean or playing unlimited golf at both our Ernie Els-designed course and Bernhard Langer signature course, unwind at our award-winning Spa and raise a glass at one of our exciting dining venues. This beautiful resort opened in October 2008, and has 90 one-bedroom villas, 1 Presidential Suite, 45 two-to-five-bedroom residential villas, 5 stunning Food and Beverage venues in addition to managing an off-property beach bar/restaurant, an award-winning over water Spa, 2 tennis courts and a fitness center.

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Head Baker at Junior Sous Chef level to lead and supervise our bakery operations.

The candidate must have strong technical baking knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and hygiene while supervising the bakery team on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the daily bakery operations
• Prepare and oversee the production of breads, viennoiserie, breakfast pastries, and bakery items
• Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are maintained
• Organize production schedules and daily mise en place
• Supervise, train, and motivate bakery team members
• Maintain hygiene, HACCP, and food safety standards
• Monitor stock levels, ordering, and proper product rotation
• Control wastage and support cost management initiatives
• Assist the Executive Pastry Chef and culinary leadership team when required

Requirements

This position is earmarked to be part of our Foreign Worker Initiative.

• Minimum 5 years experience in bakery operations
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience required
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Artisan breads
  • Viennoiserie
  • Breakfast pastries
  • Dough fermentation and baking techniques
• Basic English communication skills required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organization and teamwork skills

Preferred Profile

• Experience in luxury hotels, resorts, or high-volume bakery operations
• Passion for bakery craftsmanship and quality products
• Reliable, disciplined, and detail-oriented
• Ability to lead and develop junior team members

Salary:

Your Basic salary will be Rs. 38,535/- monthly which is equivalent to Rs. 462,420/- annually.
