Job description

SUMMARY

The Import/Export Specialist efficiently and accurately prepares, issues and processes all necessary paperwork to ensure CTC products are shipped on-time around the world with required documentation that is compliant with laws, regulations and company policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and audit export documentation for shipments and settlements and ensure timely processing of export shipments

• Liaise with forwarders and shipping lines to obtain the required documentation, including bills of lading, and to identify and resolve discrepancies as require

• Review Letter of Credit (L/C) requirements; generate compliant documentation for presentation to advising bank

 • Communicate daily with appropriate internal/external customers, loading facilities, freight forwarders, brokers, vendors, and customers

 • Create, assemble, present, and submit applicable export documentation required per country specific destination in accordance with export laws and regulations

• Issue Commercial invoices by validating data integrity and accuracy, obtain Ocean Bill of Lading from Forwarders, ensuring AES filing

• Maintain export files in an organized and catalogue system

• Ensure compliance with export laws and regulations

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain and Logistics or related area of study highly preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office and NetSuite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task while still maintaining a high level of organization
  • Strong knowledge of Air Export & TSA regulations and documentation
  • Hazmat certification a plus
  • Minimum 5 years experience in domestic/import/export documentation or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with Letters of Credit.
