Digital Content Specialist III Job at a Glance

Title: IT - Digital Content Specialist III
Location: Allentown, PA (100% remote, must live in EST or CST time zones)
Contract: W2 only, 12 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEI
Pay: $50-55 /hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match

Overview

The Digital Content Specialist works within a cross-functional product team to operationalize content strategy across the client’s customer-facing web pages and digital content. You will collaborate with content, design, development, and communications partners to build and maintain content in content management systems. This role requires attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate approved content, customer needs, and business goals into clear, accessible, and user-centered digital experiences that help customers find information, complete tasks, and achieve their goals.
  • Build, update, and maintain website pages using CMS content components, keeping sites accurate, current, and accessible.
  • Collaborate with content, design, development, communications, and product teams to deliver customer-facing digital experiences.
  • Partner with content creators and business stakeholders to recommend content structures, page layouts, and digital experience approaches that improve customer understanding and task completion.
  • Apply content strategy by configuring page components, layouts, structured content, and metadata to improve usability, navigation, and search.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure content, functionality, accessibility, formatting, and implementation align with approved designs, content standards, and technical requirements before release.
  • Partner with platform, development, and implementation teams to troubleshoot content, layout, publishing, and component-related issues.
  • Help maintain CMS governance practices, including content reviews, publishing workflows, implementation standards, taxonomy, metadata, and content organization.
  • Support testing, release readiness, content migrations, and post-release validation activities.
  • Optimize digital assets for performance, accessibility, clarity, and consistency across websites and digital channels.
  • Monitor content performance, search behavior, customer feedback, and analytics to identify opportunities for improvement.
Required Skills
  • 2+ years of experience in content management, web publishing, digital content operations, or related digital experience roles.
  • Experience with CMS platforms such as Storyblok, Sitecore, Drupal, WordPress, Adobe Experience Manager, Contentful, or similar.
  • Experience translating content, business requirements, and customer needs into user-friendly digital experiences.
  • Basic HTML and CSS knowledge.
  • Experience with digital asset and design tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and content governance.
  • Familiarity with taxonomy, metadata, content organization, and search optimization.
  • Familiarity with structured content and component-based content management approaches.
  • Experience participating in content reviews, QA activities, publishing workflows, and content lifecycle management.
Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Communications, Web Design, Information Management, Marketing, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting component-based design systems.
  • Experience with headless CMS platforms and structured content models.
  • SEO and content discoverability experience.
  • Experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Adobe Analytics, or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting multi-site websites, digital transformation efforts, or content migrations.
  • Agile product team experience.
  • East Coast and Central Time Zone candidates preferred.
  • 100% Remote.
