Job description

  • The Executive Director, Marketing will lead and manage many of the day to day activities of the Marketing Team focused on appropriate brand development ensuring commercial success across all channels of promotion for XCOPRI
  • Directly responsible for all HCP personal, patient, non-personal and omnichannel marketing
  • Plays a key role in developing and implementing effective plans in order to maximize commercial success
  • Provides day to day marketing leadership across the extended brand teams and within various cross-functional teams
  • Responsible for helping to create, review, and maintain the brand strategy for XCOPRI
  • Responsible for aligning core tactics to overall brand and corporate strategy and ensuring execution of these tactics across the Team
  • Ensures optimization of XCOPRI and achievement of business foreacasts
  • Leads the strategic planning process for XCOPRI as well as particpates in the lifecycle planning for the brand

  • Day to day management of Marketing team in all functions
  • Ensures Marketing team is executing against brand sales targets in collaboration with Sales and other Marketing and Commercial leadership team members
  • Oversees the development of HCP, Patient (including TV and digital DTC), and Omnichannel personal and non-personal promotional materials within the Marketing Department
  • Ensures alignment of brand positioning, segmentation, messaging, and overall objectives across the organization
  • Works closely with field sales leadership to ensure marketing programs that are developed strongly support their direct and indirect needs and drive appropriate Return on Investment (ROI)
  • Helps to lead Marketing team to develop and execute Marketing-specific growth projects to achieve above plan targets
  • Utilize analytics to align and drive brand resources toward key brand segments
  • Utilize market research insights to drive performance
  • Helps with oversight of marketing budget
  • Understand and comply with legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Executive Director, Marketing will have a team of marketing direct reports including:

  • 2 Directors of Marketing
  • 3 Associate Directors of Marketing

Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • MBA preferred

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience working in a Pharmaceutical and/or Medical Device environment including some Sales Leadership experience
  • Minimum of 12 years previous successful experience in a Marketing role with significant leadership responsibility
  • 5 years’ experience as a Marketing Team Lead is preferred
  • Previous successful experience leading the launch of a pharmaceutical product and/or pharmaceutical indication (line extension) in a competitive market
  • Previous experience leading HCP and patient marketing initiatives.
  • Previous successful experience in strategic planning, KOL development, and partnering with medical associations
  • Experience leading successful omnichannel/digital programs.Previous experience in developing and successfully executing DTC marketing campaigns
  • Experience managing multiple agencies and managing a multi-million dollar marketing budget.
  • Demonstrated track record of strong collaboration with cross-functional partners
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

  • Work is typically performed in an office environment
  • Amount of travel will fluctuate based on business needs but could be as high as business needs
  • May be required to routinely lift items ~25 pounds
  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time
  • Understanding of the dynamics associated with the marketing and sales of a prescription epilepsy product in today’s retail marketplace
  • Experience in working with cross functional teams such as Commercial Operations, Sales, Managed Markets, Market Development, Sales Training, Medical Affairs, Finance, CMC, etc.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead without authority
  • Strong analytical skills and proven strategic ability to succeed in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to foster team cohesion and demonstrate ability to work effectively in a fast-paced matrix environment
  • Ability to work both internally and externally with technical and medical experts
