Job description

When you join us as a Physicians Relations Manager, you will be joining a dedicated team of professionals who deliver quality, value, and access in the 21st century and align all stakeholders- patients, providers, payors, and regulators to achieve the best clinical outcomes.
You Will:
  • Responsible for the administration and management of physician schedules, including ensuring coverage for scheduled and unscheduled absences. Work closely with operations management to ensure that there is adequate physician coverage to meet site/modality volume demands.
  • Reviews and monitors physician contracts to ensure compliance with time off, expenses, and year-to-year contract renewal.
  • Ensures credentialing is initiated by assisting the Credentialing Manager by obtaining appropriate documentation and information from physicians, and following through to ensure compliance is attained and information is forwarded to the appropriate department. Follows up to ensure appropriate documentation is provided to credentialing staff and site management.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of physician CMEs in order to ensure legal/medical compliance. Works with physicians to advise when CMEs are required.
  • Responsible for ensuring malpractice coverage is in place for new and current physicians, maintaining an accurate and updated list of physicians covered, forwards evidence of coverage to requestors and communicates timely information regarding terminating physicians for placement on "departed" list.
  • Responsible for preparing and delivering physician productivity reports.
  • Relays information regarding concerns relative to physicians beyond authority, which could impact the quality of care of service that we provide or disrupt site operations to operations leadership and executive management.
  • Assists operations and executive leadership as needed with special assignments and special projects related to physician relations/services.
  • Demonstrates initiative and creativity in promoting positive physician relations, responding to questions and needs of physicians on a timely basis.
  • Assists operations management as needed in long-range planning, communications, and other tasks. Remains informed of RadNet policies and general environmental conditions to provide input and propose solutions.
  • Assists physicians with expense reimbursement.
  • Maintains absolute and strict confidentiality with all material and information pertaining to all patients, personnel, and/or projects associated with physician scheduling.
  • Create, organize, and maintain files.
  • Answer phones, screen, and route calls appropriately.
  • Process any incoming mail and faxes pertaining to physician relations/scheduling.

To Ensure Success In This Role, You Must Have:
  • A four-year degree in business administration or health care administration, or six plus years of experience in the radiology service industry and/or physician relations/management experience is highly preferable.
  • Must have and use excellent time management and organizational skills in order to coordinate various simultaneous high-level responsibilities
  • Exhibits a strong sense of urgency and ability to follow through while multitasking.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience with physicians, physician scheduling, and physician contracts.
  • Experience in evaluating and ensuring physician capabilities meet facility/modality needs and exhibits the ability to assess areas where adjustments can be made and/or makes executive leadership aware of concerns relative to physician productivity and capability.
  • Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to interact effectively with doctors, vendors, peers, staff, and management.
  • Understands how external forces in the healthcare industry affect physician relations
  • Able to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve department and organizational objectives.
  • Ability to share information effectively, appropriately, and promptly, as well as to provide appropriate direction to team members.
  • Ability to maintain a proactive relationship with current and prospective physicians.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills in interactions with senior management.
  • Maintains a "team" mentality within clinical operations and as a member of the physician management team.
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule (hours of operation and special circumstances can vary significantly).

Pay Range: $62,400.00 - $89,440.00 per year
