The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is the City agency responsible for regulating for-hire transportation in New York City, including taxis, street hail liveries, high-volume for-hire services such as Uber and Lyft, black cars, luxury limousines, livery vehicles, commuter vans, and paratransit vehicles.
The New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC) oversees a transportation ecosystem that moves nearly 1 million riders every single day the equivalent of the entire Boston transit system. TLC is the agency responsible for regulating New York City's taxicab and for-hire vehicle industry. With approximately 180,000 licensed drivers, 1,000 businesses, 115,000 vehicles including and the iconic yellow taxi at the heart of our city's identity, TLC is entering a new era of dignity, accountability, and collaboration across the for hire vehicle sector. The Executive Assistant to the Commissioner will provide high-level administrative and operational support to the Commissioner/Chair, Chief of Staff, and Deputy Chief of Staff. This role will manage the day-to-day operations of the executive office, including complex calendar management, correspondence, and coordination of internal and external communications. The Executive Assistant will support the agency leadership in operational and process management, assist in the coordination of major initiatives, and play an active role in planning and organizing Commission Meetings and Public Hearings. Responsibilities will also include preparing reports, presentations, and official correspondence; responding to inquiries from licensees, elected officials, and the general public; and ensuring timely, accurate agency responses. The role will involve maintaining project plans and workflow trackers, ensuring meetings are well-structured with clear agendas and designated leads, and supporting staff development initiatives to enhance administrative effectiveness across the agency.

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four (4) years of paid full-time administrative experience in an industrial, commercial, governmental, educational or related organization, including one (1) year in a consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or
2. A satisfactory equivalent. However, all candidates must have the one year of specialized experience above.
