Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans that meet clients' specific needs, including creating pre-crisis and crisis management strategies.
  • Document client progress and therapy sessions in accordance with state regulations and accreditation standards, maintaining meticulous records that reflect each client's journey.
  • Implement evidence-based screening tools and therapeutic methodologies as directed by our clinical protocols, ensuring that interventions are tailored to promote effective outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to devise and execute positive behavior support plans that empower clients and adapt to their unique circumstances.
  • Actively participate in ongoing training and accreditation processes to enhance clinical skills and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Excela Behavioral Health, you will work primarily with diverse populations experiencing a range of mental health issues, such as anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and substance use challenges. Additionally, you will support individuals with developmental disabilities and those recovering from brain injuries, developing a strong understanding of their unique needs and tailoring your approach to ensure effective care.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Completion of a full-time clinical internship in a mental health setting to gain practical experience.
  • Must hold licensure eligibility in the State of New York, with commitment to undertake any required licensing exams.
  • A valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Outstanding communication skills, allowing for rapport-building with clients quickly and effectively.
  • Strong active listening abilities with a focus on empathy, encouraging clients to express their concerns.
  • Attention to detail coupled with strong organizational skills for managing documentation and scheduling.
Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $100,000 annually, along with an attractive sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
