Excela Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our remote team in Buffalo, New York. In this full-time position, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality mental health services and support to individuals seeking to enhance their emotional well-being. We offer a competitive salary range of USD 70,000–100,000 annually, along with a sign-on bonus to welcome you aboard.

The Mental Health Counselor will operate in a fully remote setting, affording flexibility while maintaining a connection with a collaborative team dedicated to mental health care. Our outpatient office model supports varied client needs and offers essential services that cater to our patient population. We embrace technology to conduct assessments, therapy sessions, and collaboration amongst team members, ensuring an efficient and effective therapeutic process.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to individual client needs, including pre-crisis and crisis interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation to meet regulatory compliance standards in accordance with best practices and organizational policies.
• Employ evidence-based screening tools as guided by clinical protocols to ensure optimal care delivery.
• Work cohesively with interdisciplinary teams to formulate and implement positive behavior support plans that enhance client outcomes.
• Actively engage in licensing and accreditation processes, participating fully in internal audits and evaluations to uphold service quality.

• A Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Successful completion of a full-time clinical internship or practicums in a mental health setting is essential.
• Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the State of New York.
• A valid driver’s license in good standing to facilitate any required client engagements.
• Exceptional communication skills, with an innate ability to quickly establish trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• A strong capacity for empathetic listening while guiding clients through their therapeutic journey.
• Attention to detail with outstanding organizational skills is a must to manage documentation and client care effectively.

• Experience in utilizing evidence-based practices and interventions in mental health counseling.
• Familiarity with treatment modalities for substance abuse and behavioral health disorders.
• Proven capability working in a team-oriented environment with a collaborative approach to client care.
