Job Description
The Events Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational, administrative, and logistical management of services to ensure full conformance with contract requirements for university events. This role oversees all aspects of event support-including planning, staffing, execution, and post-event review-while maintaining cost control measures and service-level standards. The Events Project Manager will attend university events regularly and serve as the primary on-site representative for ABM. This position requires being on-call, including weekends and holidays, to support scheduled and emergency event needs.
A key component of this role is building and maintaining strong customer relationships, understanding customer requirements, and identifying opportunities to provide additional ABM services.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that event services are performed as contracted and at the intended profit margins.
  • Serve as the face of ABM for the customer; develop and maintain strong, professional client relationships.
  • Understand customer requirements for events and offer ABM services to meet evolving needs.
  • Attend university events-supporting setup, staffing, service delivery, and breakdown activities.
  • Remain on-call to respond to urgent event or building needs; availability on weekends and holidays is required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve potential problems or service concerns quickly and effectively.
  • Manage quality control monitoring and safety programs for event operations and designated facilities.
  • Conduct quality of service inspections and ensure high service standards at all event locations.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue by recommending additional or periodic services to customers.
  • Ensure compliance with ABM policies and procedures, as well as all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensure completion and timely submission of all required paperwork, including labor variance plans, event summaries, and operational model updates.
  • Proactively analyze and manage financial and operational performance across assigned event locations.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy for event staff and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Supervisors, Leads, and event personnel assigned to support university events.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation of event staff.
  • Handle employee relations matters including directing work, performance reviews, recognition, discipline, complaint resolution, and terminations in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience in a service-oriented or customer-centric environment.
  • 2+ years of event management, janitorial/custodial oversight, or facilities management preferred.
  • Experience in cost estimating and pricing event-related services.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and chemical handling/storage procedures.
  • Must be able to write reports, create business correspondence, and effectively communicate with managers and customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure in a fast-paced event environment.
