We are seeking an Events Manager to oversee the planning and execution of weddings, conferences, retreats, and special events at our year-round resort.

This is a hands-on role that combines event coordination, food and beverage operations, team leadership, and exceptional guest service.
From intimate weddings to corporate conferences and holiday celebrations, you will play a key role in creating memorable experiences while ensuring every event runs smoothly and efficiently.
About Us

Our resort offers guests a luxury West Coast experience through our oceanfront accommodations, spa, and restaurants, Big Beach Lounge and Currents. We reside within the Yuulu?ilath - Ucluelet First Nation traditional territory, of whose ancestral lands we work and play.
Why Join Our Team?
- Be part of a collaborative and supportive hospitality team.
- Work in a dynamic environment where every day is different.
- Help create memorable experiences for guests during some of life's most important celebrations and events.
- Opportunity for professional growth and development within a year-round resort operation.
- Flexible scheduling whenever business levels allow.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all event details from booking handoff through event completion.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients during the planning and execution stages of their event.
- Develop banquet event orders, timelines, room setup plans, and operational details.
- Lead the execution of weddings, conferences, retreats, meetings, holiday parties, and special events.
- Coordinate with culinary, housekeeping, maintenance, front desk, and other departments to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise banquet and event service staff.
- Manage staffing levels, timesheets, payroll, and labour scheduling.
- Oversee banquet setups, service execution, and event breakdowns.
- Ensure food and beverage service standards are consistently maintained.
- Respond to guest requests and resolve operational issues professionally and efficiently.
- Conduct post-event reviews and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- A hospitality professional who enjoys leading teams and creating exceptional guest experiences.
- A highly organized individual who can manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
- A strong communicator who builds positive relationships with clients, guests, and team members.
- A hands-on leader who is comfortable working alongside their team during busy service periods.
- A calm and confident problem-solver who can adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Someone who takes pride in attention to detail and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in banquet operations, food and beverage management, event management, or a hospitality leadership role.
- Proven experience leading and supervising hospitality teams while coordinating and executing weddings, conferences, banquets, or other group events.
- Strong food and beverage operational knowledge, including banquet service, staffing, scheduling, payroll administration, and labour management.
- Excellent organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with event management, property management, or banquet management software.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Compensation & Benefits
- Opportunity for bonus if agreed upon goals are met
- Competitive Wage based on experience, plus gratuities
