Epoch Catering is seeking an organized, customer-focused Event Coordinator to join our talented Sales Team at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace in Novi, Michigan.

About Us

The Diamond Center at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace is managed by Epoch Catering under a food service management agreement with the Showplace. Epoch Catering is part of the Epoch Hospitality LLC.

The Vibe Credit Union Showplace is Southeast Michigan's premier destination for trade shows, conventions, conferences, business meetings, weddings, galas, and social events. With expansive exhibit space, flexible meeting facilities, and an attached hotel, we host events of every size and style throughout the year.

Responsibilities

Build strong relationships with clients while delivering exceptional customer service.

Plan menus, event logistics, and timelines with clients.

Coordinate event details with Culinary, Operations, Audio Visual, Décor, Security, and other departments to ensure seamless execution.

Prepare, distribute, and maintain accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and communicate event details to operational teams.

Detail events contracted by the Sales Team, including client meetings, site tours, and pre-conference meetings.

Identify opportunities to enhance client events through thoughtful upselling when appropriate.

Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date client files and event documentation.

Utilize Ungerboeck and Social Tables software to manage event details and bookings.

Collaborate closely with Sales, Culinary, and Operations teams to ensure outstanding event execution.

Participate in sales initiatives, promotions, and team meetings as requested by management.

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality, catering, hotels, event planning, banquet operations, or a related customer service field preferred.

Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Experience with Ungerboeck, Social Tables, or similar event management software is preferred but not required.

Schedule

This position is primarily Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends are required based on event schedules. Limited overtime may be available during peak event periods.
