  • Respond to inbound event inquiries and actively prospect local, regional, and repeat business

  • Build strong relationships with local businesses, planners, creatives, and community partners

  • Conduct site tours and act as the primary point of contact from inquiry through execution

  • Prepare proposals, contracts, and event orders in alignment with brand standards and pricing guidelines

  • Continuously seek new opportunities

  • Maintain knowledge of the competition and its offerings

Event Planning & Execution

  • Plan and execute events from start to finish, including timelines, guest flow, room setups, and service style

  • Work on-site during events as needed to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest experience

  • Partner closely with the Executive Chef and F&B leadership on menus, beverage selections, and event logistics

  • Oversee event setup, breakdown, and service coordination with internal teams

  • Handle real-time problem solving and service recovery with confidence and grace

Revenue & Programming

  • Drive event revenue while maintaining profitability and operational efficiency

  • Support seasonal and ongoing programming initiatives that drive community engagement

  • Track leads, conversions, and event performance to inform future sales strategy

  • Collaborate with hotel leadership on pricing, packages, and revenue-driving ideas

The People

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, vendors, and internal teams

  • Create a calm, confident, and welcoming presence during high-energy events

  • Support a positive, inclusive, and respectful work environment

The Rest

  • Ensure events align with local, state, and regulatory requirements, including liquor laws

  • Protect the reputation of The Abner Hotel through thoughtful execution and guest care

  • Maintain accurate event documentation, billing, and post-event follow-up

  • Represent the hotel as a respected and engaged member of the Litchfield community

Experience & Skills
  • 2–5 years of experience in event sales, catering sales, or hospitality events

  • Strong food & beverage knowledge and comfort working live events

  • Highly organized with excellent communication and follow-through

  • Sales-minded, guest-focused, and unflappable under pressure

  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as events require
