Job Purpose
The Private Event Sales Director is responsible for creating relationships with members and guests to generate event sales. Event Sales Directors excel in customer service and are responsible for selling, planning and coordinating all aspects of Private Events and Golf Tournaments. To be successful in this role, an Event Sales Director must be able to lead and develop a sales team with an emphasis on elevating the member and guest experience.
Responsibilities
  • Develop market segments and solicit new customer relationships while maintaining existing relationships
  • Sell and market to external markets which may encompass corporate events/meetings/trainings, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, and personal milestone events; other may include holiday
  • parties, celebrations of life, school athletic banquets, and fundraisers.
  • Act as an ambassador for the property, fostering relationships with individuals & corporations who book events to maintain repeatable and predictable business while prospecting for new events
  • Heighten awareness externally within the community from the club to bridal shows, golf shows and other public events
  • Responsible for being a positive role model in both social media formats and public forums by being active and showing consistent participation in all public facing opportunities
  • Maximize tournament revenues to meet and exceed sales goals and budgets through the sale of groups of 20 players or more and increase yield through effective negotiation of tournament product and tee time utilization
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef when designing custom menus and the entire management team to communicate upcoming events
  • Responsible for generating a definitive sales and marketing plan to achieve departmental revenue goals which meet and exceed sales goals and budgets

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of how to use social media to drive sales is required: Including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.
  • Must have a positive, engaging, and team-oriented view on the workplace.
  • Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM
  • Solid time management, organization and prioritization skills; ability to work with little or no direct supervision
  • Excellent customer service orientation and focus on customer satisfaction required
  • Strong leadership and people skills, plus the ability to build and foster a team environment desired
  • College degree preferred or 3 years of related experience in sales preferably in golf/hospitality/service industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Working Conditions
  • Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull. The employee may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
