Job description

At Burwell Material Handling, we’re all about people — our team, our customers, and the communities we serve. What started as C & B Material Handling has grown into Burwell because of the people behind it. Every employee, every connection, and every customer relationship helped shape who we are today. We’ve built our reputation by delivering reliable equipment solutions, automation systems, and industrial sales and rentals with a personal touch—and we’re proud of the team that makes it all happen.

We’re growing, and we’re looking for forward-thinking, motivated teammates who want to help build something meaningful—where your contributions count, and your voice is heard.

About the Role:
We’re hiring a Rental Sales Representative to grow our equipment rental business across the general construction market. This is a field-based sales role—not a desk job—where you’ll build relationships with contractors, solve jobsite problems, and drive revenue through smart, customer-first solutions. You’ll represent a newer, reliable rental fleet and a company that values your hustle, respects your time, and backs you with strong internal support. If you're energized by chasing leads, closing deals, and being a trusted partner for jobsite solutions, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and manage relationships with construction contractors, jobsite foremen, and project managers to grow rental business.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities for equipment rentals in the general construction sector.
  • Create tailored rental proposals based on jobsite needs and equipment requirements.
  • Work closely with the Rental and Service departments to ensure equipment availability and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits to maintain visibility and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Stay informed on construction project timelines and upcoming opportunities in the region.
  • Attend sales training and industry events to sharpen product knowledge and sales strategies.

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in rental equipment or construction-related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of construction equipment such as telehandlers, scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and related tools.
  • Comfortable working in and around active construction sites.
  • Highly motivated and organized, with a track record of hitting sales targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; CRM experience a plus.

Benefits:
All offers are contingent on passing a pre-employment drug test and background check. Burwell Material Handling is a drug-free workplace.

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Excellent benefits starting day one – Medical, Dental, Vision, Accident, Short-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and 401K with Company Match
  • Progressive Paid Time Off and Holidays – starting with 3 weeks PTO in your first year
  • Paid parental leave for moms and dads
  • Opportunities for growth and internal promotion
  • Annual Community Impact Day – paid volunteer time in the places we work and live

Our goal is to improve the quality of work life by using fair and consistent treatment and providing equal growth opportunities for all team members. We are an equal opportunity employer as defined by federal, state or local laws.

If you're looking to build a meaningful career, we’re excited to support your goals and help you grow with us.
