Through collaborations with local partners, we offer a diverse range of year-round programs in the arts, heritage, and environmental stewardship and education, engaging people from across the city and beyond. Our journey began with the Lakeview Legacy Community Foundation, later known as the Small Arms Society, which led the successful effort in 2008 to save the historic Small Arms Inspection Building (SAIB) from demolition.

Since 2018, CreativeHub 1352 has worked with the City of Mississauga to transform this landmark into a vibrant community hub. As the building's lead tenant and key partner, we continue to expand our programming days each year, bringing our creative vision to life in this unique and historic space. Position OverviewThe Event Coordinator will support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of CreativeHub 1352's busy summer season of markets, workshops, festivals, and community programs.

This position is ideal for youth interested in event management, program coordination, community arts, communications, or public engagement. Working closely with senior staff, event managers, instructors, artists, and volunteers, the Coordinator will help deliver both large public events and ongoing weekly programming that brings creativity to life at SAIB. The role offers meaningful skill development in logistics, customer service, volunteer coordination, communication, marketing, teamwork, and project management.

Key ResponsibilitiesEvent & Program Coordination Support event planning and on-site operations for: Lakeview Farmers' & Artisan Market Summer Arts Mississauga workshops FibreArts Festival Lakeshore Art Trail Festival of Trees Coordinate CreativeHub's weekly and bi-weekly programming series, including BYO Craft Days, Drop-In Arts, Arts & Crafts Workshop Days, Cultural Movie Evenings, Workshop/Craft Evenings, and Lectures/Authors Evenings. Assist with venue setup, schedules, check-ins, vendor/artist support, event flow, and safety procedures. Act as an on-site liaison for participants, visitors, instructors, and vendors.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement Support volunteer coordination, including scheduling, orientation, and day-of supervision. Engage with community members, artists, small businesses, cultural groups, and participants in a welcoming and inclusive manner. Help build strong relationships with program partners and instructors.

Marketing & Promotions Support Assist in creating content for social media, newsletters, and event promotions. Prepare signage, event listings, and participant communications. Capture photos, stories, and attendance data to highlight impact.

Administrative & Planning Support Maintain event records, attendance logs, registration lists, and program documentation. Support budgeting, scheduling, material preparation, and reporting. Assist in collecting feedback and creating post-event evaluation summaries.
