Job description

Team Lead – Community Events – Ontario (Travel Required)

Lead Our Summer Events Team

SDI Marketing is hiring experienced, hands-on Team Leads to support field execution for a national community events and field activation program across Canada.

This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced event environments, knows how to motivate and coach a team, and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves alongside their reps. You'll oversee event execution at local events, community activations, retail pop-ups, and promotional experiences — leading field reps while also engaging customers and helping drive sales results. This role will require travel — you'll be on the road across your assigned region throughout the summer, leading your team at events in different communities each week.

We are currently hiring across multiple provinces and communities.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and supervise a team of field representatives at community events, retail activations, and pop-ups
  • Oversee event setup, execution, and teardown
  • Manage schedules and on-site staffing
  • Coach reps in real-time on customer engagement, sales technique, and brand standards
  • Sell alongside your team — engage customers directly, model the approach you expect, and contribute to overall sales targets
  • Travel to multiple event locations across your assigned region throughout the summer
  • Liaise with venue contacts, leadership, and SDI head office on event logistics
  • Manage on-site issues
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing development of your team

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in field marketing, events, retail management, sales, or team leadership
  • Demonstrated experience leading small teams in customer-facing environments
  • Strong sales background — comfortable selling and coaching others to sell
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Willing and able to travel regularly to events across multiple markets
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required
  • Weekend availability throughout summer 2026
  • Comfortable approaching and engaging the public
  • Sales, telecom, events, or hospitality leadership experience considered a strong asset

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Commission opportunities for qualified leads
  • Paid travel
  • Paid training
  • Ongoing incentive and growth opportunities

Why Join SDI?

  • Support a high-impact team on a national field program
  • Mentor and develop community reps across Canada
  • Clear career path within SDI's field leadership and sales programs
  • Growth opportunities within field leadership and sales programs
  • Be part of a team helping connect local communities across Canada
