Job Description

Position: Event Services Intern

Location(s): The Broadmoor World Arena & Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts
Employment Type:
Part-Time, Temporary Internship (Approx. 20 hours/week)
Compensation:
$15.16/hour


SUMMARY:

The Event Services Intern supports the planning, coordination, and execution of events at The Broadmoor World Arena and Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts. This role offers hands-on experience across a wide range of live events, including Broadway productions, concerts, sporting events, and comedy tours.


The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong communication skills. This position requires flexibility, including availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional extended or overnight shifts.


Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating all phases of events, including pre-event planning, on-site execution, and post-event settlement
  • Communicate effectively with event promoters, production teams, and internal departments
  • Support event operations by serving in roles such as Building Supervisor and/or Front of House Manager for assigned events
  • Coordinate with internal teams including operations, housekeeping, box office, catering, marketing, and technical services to ensure seamless event delivery
  • Assist in arranging external vendors and services (e.g., audio/visual, lighting, staging, equipment rentals) and ensure timely setup
  • Participate in pre- and post-event walkthroughs to evaluate facility readiness and condition
  • Supervise and support Front-of-House and Guest Services staff to ensure high standards of customer service, safety, and security
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Attend staff meetings, event briefings, and client advance calls
  • Assist with scheduling part-time event staff as needed
  • Perform event-day roles as assigned, which may include guest services, parking, or stagehand support
  • Provide administrative support for the Event Department
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university (minimum one semester completed) or graduated within the past 12 months
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred:

  • Pursuing a degree in Event Management, Theatre Management, Business, Sports Management, or a related field
  • Previous experience in live events, theater, or arena environments
  • Familiarity with technical theater systems (lighting, audio, staging)
  • Experience with CAD or event layout software



This is a temporary internship position and is not benefits eligible.
