Job Description
The Training Coordinator will mainly be responsible for managing federally funded training programs and events/conferences as well as providing technical support for grant submissions and progress reports. This includes scheduling meetings with PI and program collaborators and taking meeting minutes, making travel and other administrative arrangements research training fellows in the program, maintaining the training websites, and assisting with assembling administrative components of grant applications. The coordinator will also support recruitment of trainees, intake process, and providing ongoing communication and support during their appointment period. The position requires the ability to function with a high level of organizational skill to manage schedules, projects, and events.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage Training Programs and Participants:
• Work with the Program Directors and collaborators to fulfill the goals and objectives of the training programs
• Provide support for recruitment of new trainees and manage the application process, including serving as the point of contact for program applicants
• Manage trainee travel arrangements
• Manage the trainee database in REDCap
• Coordinate communication and facilitate updates to trainees and alumni
• Support grant reporting process, including intake of trainee reports, and aggregate training program outputs
• Work on marketing materials and maintain training program websites as needed
• Generate documentation for program activities, including the preparation of manuals, education materials, committee notes, reference materials, admission letters and trainee handbooks.
• Contribute to program reports, newsletter content, and other products and tasks as needed
Qualifications
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
• Bachelor's required, Master's preferred in social work, public health, psychology, or other social/behavioral science discipline
• Excellent communicator - demonstrated interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills to effectively communicate, collaborate, establish and maintain good working relationships with a diverse group of multi-disciplinary researchers, staff, and partners
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in establishing priorities
• Excellent organization skills with ability to balance multiple competing deadlines
• Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software applications such as REDCap and Qualtrics
Must have a high level of attention to detail, flexibility, adaptability, punctuality, and ability to work on a team
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is 75K - 80K. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
