Job Purpose:

The Events Lead at Marquette Mountain Resort is a responsible for assisting the Assistant General Manager with the execution of private events for the peak season. These events include, but are not limited to, weddings, family reunions, company parties, and other special celebrations. The primary focus of this role is to provide hands-on support in venue setup, food and beverage service, and guest hospitality to ensure seamless event operations. 


 Shift: Temporary until November 1st: Part Time (0-29 hours per week) must be available for Weekends on occasion Weekdays, Weeknights, Days, Afternoons, Nights  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Assistant General Manager to execute private events held at Marquette Mountain Resort. 
  • Fulfills the hands-on operational duties of private events as assigned. 
  • Assists with the physical setup and breakdown of venues, including arranging tables, chairs, and directional signage according to designated event floor plans.
  • Safely breaks down, clears, and stores venue furniture, equipment, and signage post-event. 
  • Helps serve meals, pass appetizers, and ensures buffet stations remain fully stocked, clean, and appetizing throughout the event. 
  • Proactively clears and busses used dishes, glassware, and silverware from guest tables to maintain a clean, tidy, and upscale environment. 
  • Acts as a warm, welcoming, and professional point of contact for hosts and guests, ensuring a high level of hospitality throughout the day. 
  • Maintains venue cleanliness by ensuring event spaces, restrooms, and common areas remain clean, presentable, and orderly during and after the event. 
  • Conduct site visits/meetings for prospective clients as assigned.
  • Provide regular updates to management on private event bookings.
  • Notify management regarding customer specifications and needs when requiring support from other departments, efficiently respond to customer needs.
  • Notify management promptly of any matters of significance with the potential to affect an event.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Some college preferred

Physical & Other Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and remain active on their feet for long periods of time (often 8+ hours per shift). 
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
  • The employee must be capable of regularly lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds (such as tables, chairs, and heavy service trays). 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Weekend availability is an absolute MUST (including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) as a regular part of the schedule to accommodate pre-scheduled weddings and events.
