Job Summary: The Evening Produce / Store Assistant Manager plays a dual role at Wilson Farm, acting as a key support during the day to the Produce Manager and Assistant Produce Manager, and serving as the Store Closing Manager in the evening across all departments. This individual is considered #3 in command” of the Produce Department and is trusted to ensure smooth operations, staff coordination, and a safe, clean, and customer-ready store at closing. This position has an hourly rate of pay of $24-$29 based on experience.


Schedule:

· Full-time (50+ hours/week), in-person work at Lexington location, working the 10 am - close shift

· Will be a mix of weekdays, weekend, and holiday days

· Holiday periods may require more hours and flexibility in schedule to meet business needs


Key Responsibilities


Daytime: Produce Department Support

  • Assist Produce Manager and Assistant Produce Manager with daily department operations
  • Support inventory rotation, merchandising, stocking, and product presentation
  • Monitor product quality and assist with trimming, culling, and restocking as needed
  • Lead by example in maintaining cleanliness and organization in work and sales areas
  • Provide guidance to produce staff, answer questions, and help train new team members
  • Communicate any inventory needs or customer feedback to management

Evening: Store Closing Manager

  • Oversee all departments (produce, bakery, grocery, cheese, garden shop, etc.) during evening hours – specifically between the hours of 4pm – close (typically between 7-8pm)
  • Serve as the on-site point person for staff questions, customer service issues, and incident response
  • Ensure evening tasks are completed: stocking, cleaning , and closing checklists
  • Delegate responsibilities as needed to ensure store readiness for next business day
  • Lock up and secure all areas at the end of the shift following store procedures
  • Communicate shift updates or issues to store leadership via closing reports or hand-off notes


Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in produce, retail, grocery, or farmstand environment preferred
  • Strong leadership or supervisory experience required, particularly in evening or closing roles
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced setting
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and comfortable with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods, both indoors and outdoors
