Job Description:
BIT,LLC is recruiting for a Devops / Systems Engineer to work on our Cloud Automation Advancements Team. The qualified candidate must have an active TS security clearance, and will work hand-in-hand with technical and program management leadership to implement the next generation desktop and web based production and dissemination system. This position will require experience standing up and maintaining Windows Servers in a cloud environments, and the deployment and maintenance of custom code, COTS, and GOTS to those environments.
Responsibilities:
This position involves leading systems administration and Devops activities that support building and delivering new and innovative systems to implement analytics, exploitation, production and dissemination using web, remote desktop, and cloud technologies.
Program core hours are 9am-3pm ET.Occasional evening or weekend work can be required.When required, schedule changes will be arranged.
Core Qualifications:
  • Requires a BS in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related discipline and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience; OR 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Must possess an active Top Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain SCI post hire
  • DoD 8570 compliance
  • Experience with cloud/Amazon Web services (AWS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems
  • System (hardware, software and networking) Design and Architecture.
  • Understanding of custom code development/reviews
  • Understanding of DevSecOps methodologies and workflow
  • Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with GITLAB functionality, error codes and scripting
  • Experience with RedHat OpenShift
  • Experience developing webapps with Python
  • Proactive self-starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Can plan and prioritize work. Follows tasks to their logical conclusion and makes sure that everything has been done to the right standard. Good attention to detail.
  • Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently to team members and clients, verbally and in writing. Able to present ideas in a variety of ways depending upon audience and context.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ArcGIS or geospatial technologies
  • Experience using AWS services/technologies (e.g. CloudFormation, S3, ECS, EKS)
  • Experience with AWS Serverless architectures (lambda, API gateway, load balancing, autoscaling)
  • Experience with troubleshooting, configuring, and deploying docker containers
  • Experience writing, maintaining, and describing architecture diagrams
  • Team Collaboration tools and administration (Jira, Confluence, RocketChat)
  • Microsoft and/or AWS certifications
