Prior Authorization Pharmacist (Remote)

Location: Remote (Must be able to work EST hours)

Duration: 3 months Schedule: Monday – Friday | 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM EST Weekend Rotation: Possible Saturday rotation based on business needs

Job Summary

We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join the Prior Authorization team. In this role, you will review and determine prior authorization requests for pharmaceutical products by evaluating medical necessity, benefit coverage, and clinical appropriateness. This is a fully remote position requiring candidates to work an Eastern Time schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and process prior authorization requests for prescription drug coverage.
  • Make medical necessity and benefit determinations using established pharmacy guidelines and clinical criteria.
  • Apply sound clinical judgment while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Work independently while collaborating with senior pharmacists and leadership as needed.
  • Provide clinical support to the Customer Care Center.
  • Engage with healthcare providers regarding prior authorization determinations.
  • Support Fraud, Waste, and Abuse program oversight.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory updates, and operational guidelines.
  • Meet quality standards and customer performance metrics.
  • Participate in rotating weekend coverage if business needs require.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred).
  • Current active Pharmacist license.
