We are equally committed to supporting the employees who make this work possible by fostering a culture of care, collaboration, and shared purpose.
We leverage proprietary technology and a collaborative care model to help districts identify, support, and manage student needs more effectively by integrating clinical services, data-driven insights, and streamlined workflows. This approach helps reduce symptoms in students, improve outcomes, decrease risk, and allow schools to operate more efficiently across their behavioral health programs.

Position Summary

The Licensed Therapist & Behavioral Threat Assessment Trainer is a dualโ€‘function clinical role at the heart of InSiteโ€™s Tennessee program. This professional delivers InSiteโ€™s NTACโ€‘aligned threat assessment training to partner school teams (Tierโ€ฏ1) and provides licensed clinical consultation to school staff following threat assessments and for returnโ€‘toโ€‘school decisions (Tierโ€ฏ3). All InSite therapists are expected to fulfill both functions, making this a highly impactful role that combines direct clinical expertise with meaningful training and capacityโ€‘building work. This is an ideal role for a licensed therapist who is passionate about school safety, experienced in behavioral threat assessment or schoolโ€‘based mental health, and energized by teaching and training others.

Key Responsibilities

Tierโ€ฏ1: Training and Protocol Delivery

  • Deliver InSiteโ€™s NTACโ€‘aligned behavioral threat assessment training to partner school teams, including principals, school counselors, and school resource officers.
  • Facilitate both live virtual and inโ€‘person training sessions across partner schools during initial rollout and ongoing annual cohorts.
  • Support the development and refinement of districtโ€‘specific threat assessment policies and protocols in collaboration with InSiteโ€™s clinical leadership.
  • Onboard new district staff to the threat assessment protocol through structured onboarding sessions.
  • Document training completion and maintain records within the InSite Wellness Platform.

Tierโ€ฏ3: Clinical Consultation

  • Provide licensed clinical consultation to school teams following schoolโ€‘initiated threat assessments, on request.
  • Review available case information with the school team and advise on appropriate interventions, risk considerations, and next steps.
  • Support returnโ€‘toโ€‘school decisions by consulting with school staff on student readiness and appropriate conditions for return.
  • Provide referral recommendations for students requiring ongoing clinical care beyond the schoolโ€™s capacity.
  • Document all consultations within the InSite Wellness Platform in accordance with FERPA, HIPAA, and InSiteโ€™s clinical documentation standards.
  • Participate in monthly case quality reviews with InSiteโ€™s National Medical Director.
Clinical Standards
  • Maintain active LPC or LCSW licensure in Tennessee in good standing.
  • Adhere to InSiteโ€™s clinical protocols and the NTAC threat assessment framework.
  • Complete InSiteโ€™s internal BTAM training certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and clinical supervision as required.
Qualifications

Required

  • Active LPC or LCSW licensure in the State of Tennessee, in good standing.
  • Masterโ€™s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related clinical field.
  • 2+ years of postโ€‘licensure clinical experience.
  • Experience in schoolโ€‘based mental health, behavioral threat assessment, or student safety.
  • Strong training, facilitation, or public speaking skills.
  • Ability to communicate clinical information clearly to nonโ€‘clinical school staff.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Nashville, TN area.

Preferred

  • NTAC threat assessment training or certification.
  • Prior experience in Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM).
  • Experience working directly within Kโ€‘12 school environments.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or youth in a clinical or schoolโ€‘based setting.
  • Familiarity with Virginia Techโ€™s WAVRโ€‘21 or comparable structured threat assessment tools.
  • Experience conducting psychiatric or risk/threat clearance evaluations.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus given the diverse student populations in our Tennessee district partners.
Why Work with InSite Health
  • Unique dual role combining clinical practice with meaningful training and capacityโ€‘building.
  • Missionโ€‘driven company with meaningful impact on student safety and wellโ€‘being.
  • Groundโ€‘floor opportunity to build InSiteโ€™s Tennessee presence.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
