Hotel Evening Cook.


The Hilton Garden Inn located in Wooster, Ohio is looking to add to our restaurant team.


Summary: Oversees all aspects of kitchen, including the supervision of staff.

Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Prepare food by pre-described cooking methods and receipes.

- Follow and enforce proper food temperature guidelines.

- Follow established FIFO practices.

- Follow and enforce established food sanitary requirements and safety precautions and procedures.

- Maintains order and cleaniness of kiten and store room areas.

- Provides direction and leadership to associated in the kitchen department.

- Schedule associate's in accordance with forecasted occupancy, adjusts staffing as necessary for sudden changes in business levels.

-Prepare or assist in preparing vendor orders.

- Assist with the inventory, purchasing, disbursement and cost control for all kitchen items.

- Promote and engage in positive vendor relations.

- Manages the human resources function of all areas of the kitchen in order to attract, retain and motivate associates, hire, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct preformance reviews, resolve problems, and provide open communication for all associates.

- Follows established safety procedures, use of personal protective equipment and sharp policies.

- Responds to all guest requests and complaints and follows up to ensure guest satisication.

- Maintains a clean, pleasant, and professional image to guests and employees.

- Complies will all hotel policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

To perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disablitities to perform the essential functions.

Education / Experience:

High school diploma or general degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous cooking experience required.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, recipes.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole nimbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Computer Skills:

Minimal computer experience is a plus.
