This role combines ETF product expertise, investment acumen, relationship management and business development skills to support the growth of the Virtus ETF platform nationally.

The position will initially provide coverage across the entire United States. As the ETF team expands, territories may be restructured into regional coverage models. The role is remote and requires extensive travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Virtus wholesalers and distribution leaders to drive ETF asset growth, market share expansion and net sales across the Virtus ETF platform.
  • Act as the primary ETF specialist supporting field sales professionals, developing targeted business plans and identifying opportunities within the RIA, Independent Broker-Dealer and Private Client channels.
  • Navigate large RIA aggregator platforms with a strong understanding of organizational hierarchies, key decision-makers and advisor network dynamics.
  • Cover the independent RIA channel directly, building relationships with financial advisors and supporting advisor-level adoption of Virtus ETF solutions.
  • Maintain deep expertise across Virtus ETF offerings, including equity, fixed income, multi-asset and alternative strategies, and effectively articulate investment philosophy, portfolio construction, performance drivers and positioning opportunities.
  • Deliver ETF education and portfolio construction guidance to clients with varying levels of ETF sophistication.
  • Conduct impactful one-on-one meetings, group presentations, webinars and advisor training sessions virtually and in person.
  • Partner with financial advisors, model managers and professional ETF buyers to identify opportunities where Virtus solutions can add value within client portfolios.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for ETF inquiries, competitive positioning discussions, capital markets observations and portfolio implementation questions.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Capital Markets, Investment Management and Distribution teams to support sales initiatives and enhance client engagement.
  • Gather and communicate marketplace feedback regarding client needs, product gaps, competitive trends and potential new product opportunities.
  • Maintain an active travel schedule supporting advisor meetings, conferences, due diligence events and national sales initiatives.
Ideal Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA, CAIA, CIMA or CFP designation preferred.
  • Five to eight years of experience within investment management, ETF distribution, ETF product strategy, ETF capital markets, intermediary sales or asset management.
  • Demonstrated experience covering the RIA channel and working directly with financial advisors.
  • Experience in a hybrid wholesaler, ETF specialist, ETF strategist, internal wholesaler or intermediary distribution role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ETFs, portfolio construction, investment strategies and capital markets.
  • Experience supporting equity, fixed income and multi-asset investment strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow a territory through consultative relationship management and business development.
  • Advanced presentation, communication and client engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to discuss investment research, portfolio characteristics and performance attribution.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across Distribution, Product, Marketing, Legal, Compliance and Investment teams.
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses required.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.

The base salary range is $160,000 to $175,000.
