Job description

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking an ETF Sales Trader to join our Business Development team in New York City. This role will support HRT's Americas ETF business and help manage relationships with external market participants, exchanges, and broker-dealers.

This role provides exposure to a wide variety of trading across multiple asset classes and involves close collaboration with many teams across HRT. We're looking for an enthusiastic learner with a keen interest in trading, technology, and a desire to make an immediate and tangible impact. The ideal candidate will be able to apply their ETF subject matter expertise to help guide the continued development of HRT's trading platform. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily execution workflows, including trades occurring on and off RFQ platforms
  • Establish and deepen relationships with key participants in the US ETF ecosystem, including broker/dealers and ETF issuers
  • Ensure efficient execution of ETF block orders via RFQ platforms, voice, and working orders 
  • Support automated and directed order flow
  • Collaborate with various HRT teams to expand the firm's presence in ETFs and identify potential new opportunities
  • Develop tools and reports to support ongoing coverage and communication with external partners and market participants
  • Represent HRT at industry conferences, seminars, and client meetings 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in ETF sales trading, capital markets, or related execution roles
  • Deep understanding of ETF market mechanics, creation/redemption, US equity structure, and relevant regulations
  • Proficiency with Python, Excel, and/or Unix command line is highly preferred
  • FINRA Series 7, 57, 63, or willingness to obtain through HRT
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to see complex projects through from concept to completion
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Keen interest in technology and trading is mandatory

The estimated base salary range for this position is 150,000 to 250,000 USD per year (or local equivalent). The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
