Job description

Errand Assistant

Messenger / Errand Assistant — Part-Time

Location: DUMBO / Brooklyn, with occasional errands in nearby areas
Schedule: Flexible, as needed; weekly availability preferred
Pay: $20 per hour ( 20 hours per week )

We are looking for a responsible, trustworthy, and punctual college student or young professional to assist with weekly messenger and errand tasks.

Ideally lives near downtown Brooklyn, in close proximity to the 11201 Zip Code

Responsibilities

The role may include:

  • Picking up and dropping off documents, checks, packages, or notices
  • Running errands to the post office, local businesses, or nearby offices
  • Traveling between DUMBO and nearby locations, including 1–2 Court Street / Downtown Brooklyn and related stops
  • Picking up a dog from daycare when needed, including occasional weekend pickups
  • Assisting with short-notice tasks when available
  • Handling errands carefully, discreetly, and professionally
  • Communicating clearly by text or phone when assignments are completed
  • Must be okay with baby sitting, mopping and putting dishes in dishwasher.

Ideal Candidate

The right person should be:

  • Reliable, punctual, and organized
  • Comfortable traveling locally in Brooklyn and lives within proximity.
  • Available on short notice when possible
  • Comfortable with dogs
  • Able to follow instructions carefully
  • Responsible for documents, checks, keys, and other important items
  • A college student or someone with a flexible schedule is preferred

Schedule: 20 hours per week

This is a part-time, as-needed position. Some errands may be planned in advance, while others may come up the same day or next day. Occasional weekend availability is helpful, including possible dog daycare pickups around late afternoon or early evening. 

Compensation

$20 per hour, depending on experience, responsiveness, and availability. Reimbursement for reasonable transportation costs may be discussed when applicable.
