Job description

Position: Temporary Warrant Clerk
Salary Range: $23.85/hour to $31.97/hour; Starting Salary DOQ, DOE
Location Corrections Department
Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week); Benefits Do Not Apply

Brief Duties and Responsibilities: This position performs specialized clerical, data entry, and typing duties for one or more office procedures or functions and performs other related work as well. This specialized office support work requires considerable attention to detail and the application of independent judgment within policy and procedural guidelines. Most positions of this class require contact with the public at times and other county departments including the continued application of human relations skills, and rapid and accurate pace of work to accomplish tasks in the shortest period of time. Work is normally performed with a great deal of independence after initial introduction to all duties of the position, usually accomplished in six (6) months after employment. General supervision is provided by Corrections Administrative Sergeant.

Working Environment/Physical Abilities: Work is performed in office setting inside a corrections facility and requires errand duties to different locations. Position will have limited contact with inmates. Physical abilities required for this position are ones typically related to office operations including, manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate personal computers and other office equipment, access filing system, and have sufficient hearing and speech ability to communicate verbally.

Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of general clerical and financial work experience applicable to the work of the position, at a level equivalent to Office Assistant I or substituting on a month for month basis, any combination of experience, education and training which would provide the level of knowledge and ability required.
