Manufacturing Planning amp; Scheduling Specialist
Location: Indianapolis, IN

We're looking for a technically minded Manufacturing Planning amp; Scheduling Specialist who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and working across multiple departments to keep manufacturing running efficiently.
Position Summary
This role serves as the link between Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Operations to ensure production orders are accurate, manufacturing data is reliable, and customer requirements are translated into executable production schedules. This is much more than a scheduling position. You'll help improve the quality of our systems and identify issues before they impact production or customer delivery.
What You'll Do
  • Create and maintain accurate production orders within our ERP system.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure delivery commitments, manufacturing instructions, resource planning, and production data are complete and accurate.
  • Review manufacturing schedules and investigate exceptions.
  • Support and improve our automated production scheduling system.
  • Review manufacturing costs, setup standards, labor standards, and material assumptions for accuracy.
  • Identify planning issues before they impact production or customer deliveries.
  • Work directly with manufacturing personnel to understand shop-floor processes and improve planning accuracy.
  • Participate in daily production planning meetings and cross-functional problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing Automation, Production Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, CNC Machining, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing and materials planning, engineering support, continuous improvement methods, or similar operations experience.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both office personnel and frontline manufacturing employees.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following:
  • Precision machining, lathes or
  • CNC turning or milling
  • Materials resource planning (MRP) or
  • Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Automated scheduling software
  • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Lean Manufacturing, efficiency, and continuous improvement methods and measurement, e.g., root cause analysis,
Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000
