Job description

Are you a detail-oriented accountant with a passion for the equine industry? We have an equine facility needing an experienced Accountant to manage their financial operations and support their growth in the equestrian world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts tailored to equine operations, such as tracking costs for feed, veterinary care, and facility maintenance.
  • Collaborate with management on cost analysis for breeding programs, events, and sales.
  • Implement financial practices to optimize profitability.
  • Work with an outside CPA on tax compliance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, ideally in the equine industry.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of equine business operations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
