What is Epicor implementation?

Epicor implementation refers to the process of setting up, configuring, and deploying the Epicor Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software within an organization. This process includes assessing business needs, migrating data, customizing workflows, training staff, and ensuring the system integrates smoothly with existing processes. A successful implementation helps organizations streamline operations, improve efficiency, and support growth. The process may be managed by in-house teams, Epicor consultants, or third-party experts depending on the scale and complexity of the deployment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Epicor Implementation Specialist?

To thrive as an Epicor Implementation Specialist, you need a solid background in ERP systems, business process analysis, and project management, often supported by a relevant degree and experience in enterprise software deployment. Familiarity with Epicor ERP software, SQL databases, and related certifications such as Epicor Certified Professional are typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, communication, and the ability to manage change effectively are crucial soft skills in this role. These abilities ensure smooth system adoption, minimize disruptions, and help organizations achieve operational efficiency during ERP transitions.

What are some common challenges faced during an Epicor Implementation project and how can they be addressed?

One of the most common challenges in an Epicor Implementation role is managing change resistance among end-users, as introducing a new ERP system can disrupt established workflows. Additionally, ensuring data accuracy during migration and aligning software configuration with unique business processes can be complex. To address these challenges, successful implementers focus on clear communication, thorough training sessions, and involving key stakeholders early in the project. Regular collaboration with cross-functional teams and maintaining detailed documentation also help ensure a smoother implementation process.

Job description

Role Overview

TeccWeb, a member of the Alan Allman Associates Ecosystem, is one of North America's largest providers of Epicor ERP services, founded in 2014.

TeccWeb is an Epicor Service Partner specializing in the implementation and optimization of Epicor ERP solutions for mid-market companies worldwide. Our team consists of certified Epicor consultants with expertise in information technology, database development, program customization, SSRS, Crystal Reports, business process re-engineering, and employee training.

With our diverse skill set and collaborative approach, we help clients solve complex business challenges and maximize the value of their ERP systems. Our success is built on strong, long-term partnerships with our clients.

We are seeking an Epicor Financial Implementation Consultant to guide our clients through their ERP transformations. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex manufacturing accounting workflows and Epicor technology. You will lead client-facing workshops, configure financial modules, and ensure successful go-lives.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Client Advisory & Workshop Facilitation: Lead discovery sessions, gather business requirements, map current-to-future state processes, and advise clients on industry best practices.

  • Full-Lifecycle Implementation: Actively participate in all project phases for Epicor Financial modules-from system design and configuration to data migration, UAT testing, user training, and post-go-live support.

  • Core Financial & Cost Accounting Setup: Configure General Ledger (GL), AP/AR, Multi-Company/Intercompany setups, and manufacturing Cost Accounting (standard costing, WIP tracking, variance analysis).

  • Tax & Integrations: Assist with transactional tax setup and third-party integrations (e.g., Avalara / Epicor Tax Connect) where applicable.

  • Change Management & Training: Build strong relationships with client stakeholders (Controllers, CFOs, Finance Teams) to drive user adoption and system optimization.

 What We Are Looking For

1. Epicor Expertise (E10 or Kinetic)

  • Proven hands-on experience with Epicor 10 or Epicor Kinetic Financial modules.

  • Deep understanding of financial workflows within a manufacturing or distribution environment.

2. Implementation Experience

  • Direct involvement in Epicor ERP implementation, upgrade, or migration projects (as an external consultant or an internal Lead/Super User).

  • Solid grasp of cost accounting principles, GAAP/IFRS, and financial reporting.

3. Strong Client-Facing & Consulting Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (ability to translate technical ERP concepts for non-technical business users).

  • Proven ability to manage client expectations, challenge inefficient processes diplomatically, and drive projects forward.

 Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in an external consulting firm or as a dedicated internal ERP Lead/Super User.

  • CPA, CMA, or official Epicor certifications are strong assets.

What we offer
  • Fully remote position in Canada or USA (no relocation required). California excluded.
  • Competitive salary, based on experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, disability, and life insurance.
  • Opportunities for career growth and ongoing training.
  • Join TeccWeb and be part of a team of experts working on exciting projects!
