What is an Epic Support Analyst?

An Epic Support Analyst (Remote) is a healthcare IT professional who specializes in supporting the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system from a remote location. They are responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, assisting end-users, configuring system settings, and ensuring the smooth operation of Epic software. These analysts often work with healthcare providers, IT departments, and other stakeholders to resolve problems, optimize workflows, and implement updates or enhancements. Their role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of electronic medical records while working off-site.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an Epic Support Analyst?

To thrive as an Epic Support Analyst (Remote), you need a solid understanding of healthcare IT systems, experience with Epic software modules, and typically a bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field. Familiarity with Epic certification, ticketing systems like ServiceNow, and remote support tools is highly valued. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for this role. These competencies ensure timely resolution of Epic-related issues, maintain compliance, and support seamless healthcare operations in a remote environment.

How does an Epic Support Analyst collaborate with clinical staff and IT teams when resolving system issues?

You’ll need to translate technical concepts for clinical users and gather detailed information about their workflows, while also discussing more complex issues with IT or application specialists. This cross-functional communication is essential for timely and effective problem resolution, and helps ensure the EHR system supports patient care efficiently.
