Senior Distribution Center Manager

Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports To: General Manager


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Distribution Center Manager to lead the daily operations of a high-volume distribution center. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, managing warehouse performance, overseeing financial results, and developing a high-performing management team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in warehouse operations, inventory management, workforce development, and continuous process improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day distribution center operations to achieve safety, service, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Manage warehouse financial performance, labor planning, and operational budgets.
  • Develop and execute production and workforce plans to maximize efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory control processes.
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Optimize warehouse layout, storage utilization, and material flow.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop warehouse management teams.
  • Create staffing plans, assign workloads, and ensure operational deadlines are consistently met.
  • Resolve employee concerns while promoting a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Partner with senior leadership to improve operational performance and customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Leadership Responsibilities

  • Directly manage 4–12 department managers, who oversee supervisors and teams totaling 50–100+ warehouse employees.
  • Provide leadership in hiring, training, coaching, performance management, employee development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Foster a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and distribution center management experience.
  • 3-5+ years of leadership experience managing warehouse or distribution center operations.
  • Experience leading multiple managers in a high-volume warehouse environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse operations, labor planning, and operational reporting.
  • Experience managing budgets and warehouse performance metrics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
