JOB SUMMARY:

The Social Media Intern plays a major role in growing Universal Epic Universe's presence in the social media space. In this role, you will act as a content creator by developing and editing compelling content across various owned social channels for Universal Orlando Resort. Responsibilities include planning, capturing and curating best-in-class videos, photography and written content in addition to monitoring and identifying industry trends to optimize content. You'll also collaborate with internal creative partners and strategy teams to deliver social-first content that speaks to our passionate theme park audience.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Generates engaging and compelling content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Participates in social content and/or other projects as talent.
  • Produces and edits photography and/or videography using editing software such as Adobe Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop.
  • Develops visually appealing graphics to enhance social media posts.
  • Supports day-to-day social content brainstorms, channel management, and publishing across Universal Orlando Resort's owned social channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, Pinterest etc.).
  • Assists with social media campaigns and projects, including but not limited to managing projects within Adobe Workfront, meeting and communicating with internal partners, and fulfilling partner requests.
  • Monitors social media channels for industry trends and competitor activities to optimize content.
  • Works closely with social leads, marketing, communications, and internal creative teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all channels.
  • Engages with guests via social media monitoring tools by responding to comments, messages and mentions while building brand advocacy with our passionate theme park community.
  • Assists with influencer campaign strategy and outreach across owned channels.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required. 
  • A transcript is required upon application.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Preferred majors include: Advertising & Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, Digital Media, or similar.
  • Preferred experience in content creation, preferably within the travel, theme park, and hospitality industries.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite and Canva).
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines.

  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2027.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
  • All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
