Epic Revenue Cycle Manager
Position Summary
The Epic Revenue Cycle Manager leads the planning, implementation, build, configuration, and optimization of Epic revenue cycle applications supporting the Medical Faculty Associates (MFA). This role provides day-to-day leadership to the analyst team and partners closely with operational revenue cycle leaders to improve workflows, system functionality, and revenue cycle performance.
Supported Epic applications include
Resolute Professional Billing, Claims, Remittance, Charge Router, and related Epic and third-party applications.
The ideal candidate brings strong Epic revenue cycle expertise, leadership experience, and operational knowledge of ambulatory physician billing and professional billing/claims workflows, along with the ability to guide teams through complex Epic implementations and system optimization initiatives in a multi-specialty academic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Epic revenue cycle system implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and optimization initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to analysts, guiding system build, configuration, workflow design, and issue resolution.
  • Oversee application lifecycle activities including planning, design, build, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Partner with operational leaders to optimize scheduling, registration, professional billing, charge capture, and claims workflows.
  • Assign and manage daily and long-term project work for the analyst team.
  • Lead testing cycles including unit, functional, and integration testing and coordinate end-user validation.
  • Ensure all system changes follow established change management and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with Epic representatives and internal stakeholders to enhance system functionality and usability.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and support end users across clinical and operational departments.
  • Lead regular project and operational meetings to review deliverables, issues, and system improvements.

Experience
  • 5+ years progressive experience supporting Epic Revenue Cycle workflows, including professional billing, charge capture, and claims management.
  • 3+ years leadership experience managing an Epic professional billing or claims team.
  • Experience leading analysts or managing Epic application teams in a healthcare environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Epic build, workflow design, and system optimization in partnership with revenue cycle operational leaders.
  • Experience supporting Epic in a large healthcare system, academic medical center, or multi-specialty physician practice environment.
  • Experience with Epic applications including Resolute Professional Billing, Claims, Remittance, and related revenue cycle modules.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
OR
Associate's degree with 4+ years relevant experience
Certifications
Epic certification in relevant applications. New hires must complete required Epic certifications within 45 days of completing MFA-sponsored Epic training and maintain current credentials.
