Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Consultant to support our large-scale Epic migration to Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience with both Epic Systems (application and infrastructure layers) and Microsoft Azure (cloud architecture and services). This role is central to bridging the gap between clinical IT, cloud engineering, and third-party integrations during this critical healthcare digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities:Epic Application Responsibilities:
Act as the technical liaison to Epic TS for infrastructure deployment and readiness
Oversee Kuiper-based stamp deployments (App Stamp, Cogito Stamp, DMZ, etc.)
Support Epic modules (system and data) migration and readiness: EpicCare, MyChart, Clarity, Caboodle, Cogito tools, etc.
Support Epic ecosystem modules (system and data) migration and readiness.
Work closely with Epic analysts to configure non-production environments (SUP, TST, TRN)
Facilitate Epic software validation, ODB replication planning, and DR environment setup
Responsible for migration testing, integration testing and end to end sanity testing.
Azure Cloud Responsibilities:
Understanding of Azure Landing Zones, VNets, NSGs, ASGs, and ExpressRoute
Support VMSS Flexible orchestration, high availability, and zone architecture for Epic VMs
Implement Azure IAM/RBAC, Azure AD integration, and secure LDAP configuration to do application readiness
Assist in re-platforming SQL Server (Clarity/Caboodle) from on-prem to Azure SQL MI or IaaS
Ensure monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery best practices using Azure-native tools
Cross-Functional Responsibilities:
Lead technical workshops and architecture review sessions with Epic, Microsoft, and internal teams
Create and maintain runbooks, environment templates, and deployment guides
Drive technical cutover activities, incident response, and post-migration tuning
Coordinate with compliance/security teams on HIPAA/HITRUST enforcement in Azure
Required Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure and/or Healthcare Systems
5+ years of experience with Epic Systems in a technical or engineering capacity
Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure, including networking, identity, and compute
Experience with Kuiper, Clarity/Caboodle ETL, and Epic DR strategies
Familiarity with stamp-based deployment models and Azures Cloud Adoption Framework
Experience with Epic technical coordination (TS/TSR) and Epic UserWeb resources
Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator
Epic Client Systems Administrator (CSA) Certification
ITIL or PMP (a plus)
Soft Skills & Traits: Strong communicator who can operate at both executive and engineering levels
Analytical thinker with structured problem-solving approach
Comfortable working in a cross-disciplinary and regulated environment
Demonstrated ability to lead under pressure during go-live and cutover windows
Taking ownership for timely delivery with quality
FEmployment Type: Full-Time | Contract (612 months)
