Job description

Position Summary:

H West Equipment Inc. currently has an opening for a environmental equipment sales engineer to support our sales coverage area of, California, Nevada, and Arizona. This position is responsible for providing exemplary customer satisfaction to assigned accounts through the sale or rental of products and services offered by H West Equipment Inc. The sales engineer will serve as the primary liaison between H West Equipment Inc. and the customer.

Responsibilities:

  • The Environmental Equipment Sales Engineer's main objective is to sell commercial industrial refuse and recycling equipment including related equipment (balers, compacters, shredders, 1000/1200-ton shears, conveyor systems, magnetic separators) as well as parts and service.
  • Responsible for pursuing new project opportunities and closing sales.
  • Influences quote development, appropriate equipment and support services, project terms and conditions and ensuring customer support exists through the equipment warranty period
  • Meets or exceeds quarterly sales quotas by driving sales with targeted customer types in identified verticals, as well as identify opportunities with existing accounts in assigned territory
  • Negotiates and closes deals which derive significant revenue and associated margins
  • Understands the company's complete suite of products and services and identifies, hands-off cross-selling opportunities to other business verticals: environmental equipment, rental agreements, finance and leasing, service contract sales.
  • Makes joint sales calls with appropriate technical/engineering sales resources - providing in-depth technical knowledge of the solutions we have to offer
  • Develops long-term relationships with customer decision makers and influencers at the recycling, refuse companies, engineer and environmental owner levels
  • Maintains customer/project data in Customer Relationship Management software (CRM): Tracks active projects for weekly and monthly reporting, documenting of business development activity, and obstacles to success

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

โ€ข Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts; building rapport, providing technical information and explanations preparing quotes.

โ€ข Greet every customer quickly and in a friendly manner.

โ€ข Listen to and engage every customer to obtain sufficient information to correctly determine or confirm his/her requests.

โ€ข Answer customer questions regarding products, prices, availability, product uses and rental policies.

โ€ข Fulfill requests promptly and accurately, in line with company procedures.

โ€ข Obtain customer information such as name, address and payment method. Enter orders into Point of Sale and Rental database.

โ€ข Maintain records of contacts, accounts, and orders.

โ€ข Consult with clients after contract signings to resolve issues and provide ongoing support.

โ€ข Knowledge of products to troubleshoot machine issues over the phone.

โ€ข Ensure showroom, equipment, displays, counters, and signs clean, well-stocked, orderly and attractive. Ensure price tags are in place, updated and accurate.

โ€ข Schedule and dispatch deliveries.

โ€ข Work with team members to ensure high quality work.

Requirements:

โ€ข Specific environmental, refuse, recycling industry experienced desired or an equivalent.

โ€ข Qualified candidate MUST have prior outside equipment sales engineering experience. Prefer experience with selling large-ticket items.

โ€ข Prior territory management experience preferred.

โ€ข High energy, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic required.
