Mid-Level Environmental Engineer

ย 

We currently seek a Mid-Level Environmental Engineer/ Scientist/ Geologist on a direct hire basis within our clientโ€™s environmental engineering and science consulting firm. The ideal candidate will possess 3 to 10 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include supporting the design of assessment programs and remedial options for site cleanup, ensuring regulatory compliance, and obtaining necessary permits. The ideal candidate will coordinate and perform fieldwork, collecting samples from groundwater, soil, soil vapor, and surface water. Additionally, they will manage project budgets, prepare technical presentations and reports, and communicate project status to senior staff, clients, and regulators. The role also involves collaborating with vendors, subcontractors, and analytical laboratories, analyzing environmental data, and contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere. Based in Irvine, CA.

Job Requirements:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Support the design of assessment programs and remedial options for site cleanup, as well as environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, and permitting activities.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Scope, coordinate, and perform fieldwork to support environmental assessment, remediation, and restoration projects. Fieldwork may include the collection of groundwater, soil, soil vapor, and surface water samples.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Develop and track project budgets.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Prepare high-quality technical presentations, reports, letters, plans, and proposals with minimal senior GSI staff oversight.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Regularly interact with senior GSI staff, clients, and regulators to communicate project status.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and analytical laboratories and independently perform subcontractor oversight.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Manage, analyze, and interpret environmental data using statistical and data visualization tools.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Perform and oversee data entry and QA/QC of data tables, maps, reports, and other work products.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Independently perform research tasks with input from senior staff and technical experts.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Contribute to a team atmosphere through collaboration with technical experts, project managers, colleagues, and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  A Bachelors degree or higher in the Geosciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field is required; a Masters degree is preferred.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Between 3 and 10 years of relevant professional work experience is preferred.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Engineer in Training (EIT) or Geologist in Training (GIT) certification is required; however, Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geoscientist (PG) certification is preferred.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Required skills and qualifications include:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience with data management, database and office software, and data analysis

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to manage multiple tasks and organize complex datasets

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to work independently and as part of a team

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Valid drivers license and clear driving record

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to travel domestically to perform fieldwork
