Position OverviewWe are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious, and motivated Field Assistant to join our team on a part-time, on-call basis. In this role, you will provide critical operational support to our ISA Certified Arborists and Qualified Applicator License (QAL) Technicians during large-scale tree care and treatment operations.This is a hands-on, physically demanding outdoor position perfect for someone looking to gain experience in arboriculture, plant health care, or environmental services.Key ResponsibilitiesField & Operational SupportEquipment Setup: Assist with transporting, moving, and setting up specialized tree care equipment and rigging at various job sites.Application Assistance: Support QAL Technicians during treatments by pulling hoses, managing water valves, and adjusting pressure settings on the Tree Truck.Site Efficiency: Actively assist the crew to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently, on schedule, and to company standards.Safety & Site ControlPedestrian Monitoring: Maintain situational awareness and monitor job site perimeters for pedestrians, vehicles, or hazards during active operations.PPE Compliance: Correctly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, high-visibility gear, and respirators.Site Maintenance: Follow strict safety protocols to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work zone.Communication: Promptly report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or operational issues to the supervisor.Logistics & ComplianceVehicle Operation: Safely operate company-provided trucks and utility vehicles to and from job sites.Safety Training: Complete mandatory annual respirator training and fit-testing, strictly complying with all related health and safety regulations.Position Requirements & QualificationsMinimum QualificationsDriving Record: Must possess a valid California drivers license with a clean driving record that meets our companys auto insurance requirements.Reliability: Must be available for on-call, part-time work, often with flexible or variable hours depending on project needs. Must be able to work overnights (9:00 PM 6:00 AM) every other Friday, and one Saturday per month.Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to take direction well from senior crew members.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentWeather Resilience: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and inclement weather.Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing or walking on uneven terrain.Respirator Use: Must be medically cleared and capable of wearing a respirator for extended periods during chemical or dust-heavy applications.
