About the Role

You'll spend meaningful time out in the field - conducting site assessments, collecting samples, performing surveys, and documenting environmental conditions across a variety of project types. When you're not in the field, you'll be putting your strong technical writing skills to work, preparing reports, studies, and regulatory documents that clearly communicate findings to clients and agencies.

About Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Environmental Scientist to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in environmental field work and a commitment to delivering high-quality technical work products. You will play an integral role in supporting a wide range of environmental planning, assessment, and compliance projects for public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental field work including site assessments, biological and habitat surveys, soil and water sampling, and field data collection across diverse project sites

  • Author and contribute to technical reports, environmental studies, permit applications, and agency correspondence with precision and clarity

  • Support the preparation of environmental review documents in compliance with federal and state regulations

  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams, contributing to project planning, scheduling, and execution

  • Maintain accurate field notes, data logs, and chain-of-custody documentation

  • Interface professionally with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or a closely related discipline

  • 5 to 7 years of experience is required

  • Demonstrated field experience with proficiency working in varied terrain and outdoor conditions

  • Exceptional technical writing ability, with a portfolio of reports or environmental documents preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment

  • Experience with NEPA and CEQA environmental review processes is highly desirable

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required
