Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Management Specialist to support and enhance our engineering data management systems. The successful candidate will oversee Autodesk Vault administration, ensure smooth integration with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and serve as a liaison between engineering, IT, and CAD design teams. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge of Vault environments, CAD file structures, and workflow processes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Act as primary liaison between the Autodesk Vault database team and Civil 3D subject matter experts.

  • Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot the Autodesk Vault database, including file check-in/check-out issues and version control conflicts.

  • Configure and manage Vault user accounts, roles, and permissions to maintain secure and efficient data access.

  • Develop, implement, and enforce workflow processes and lifecycle management for CAD file storage and version control.

  • Support seamless integration of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Vault to improve design workflows and collaboration.

  • Partner with engineers, CAD designers, and IT staff to promote best practices in engineering data management.

  • Lead or assist in Vault upgrades, patching, testing, and system performance improvements.

  • Provide training and onboarding for new Vault users, including standards, workflows, and troubleshooting.

  • Maintain internal documentation of procedures, issues, and resolutions to build a robust knowledge base.

  • Support project collaboration through structured data management and occasional in-office meetings.

  • Initial onboarding will be in-office for a few weeks to learn systems, meet the team, and establish processes.


Qualifications
  • Education: Associate or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Experience:

    • 3โ€“5 years of hands-on experience with Autodesk Vault and AutoCAD is required.

    • Experience with Civil 3D is a plus.

  • Technical Knowledge:

    • Strong understanding of engineering data management, CAD file structures, and version control principles.

    • Familiarity with Windows Server environments and SQL databases is a plus.

  • Skills:

    • Highly organized, task-oriented, and detail-driven.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • Self-starter, capable of working independently and resolving issues proactively.

  • Previous experience implementing CAD/Vault best practices in an engineering or utility environment.
