Job description

Job Summary:
CIM Group is a community-focused real estate and infrastructure owner, operator, lender, and developer. As the Infrastructure Engineer, Productivity, you will manage and optimize Microsoft collaboration platforms, focusing on SharePoint administration, data migration, and automated workflows.
Responsibilities:
• SharePoint Site Administration: Create, configure, and maintain SharePoint sites, site collections, and subsites. Manage site architecture and navigation to support effective document management and collaboration. This includes administering user accounts, groups, and permissions to ensure appropriate access control and data security.
• Content Migration Projects: Plan and execute file migration projects to transition data from other platforms or legacy systems into SharePoint, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption to users. Coordinate with stakeholders to map and reorganize content as needed during migrations, and utilize tools or scripts to streamline the migration process.
• Automation & Workflows: Develop and manage automated workflows to improve business processes, using Microsoft Power Automate (Flow) and SharePoint’s native workflow capabilities. This involves creating and maintaining flow configurations, troubleshooting workflow issues, and optimizing processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce SharePoint security best practices and governance policies. Manage user access policies, permission levels, and data compliance features (such as retention policies or Data Loss Prevention) to safeguard sensitive information in accordance with company and regulatory standards. Regularly audit permissions and site content for compliance and security purposes.
• Microsoft 365 Integration: Work closely with the broader IT and business teams to integrate SharePoint with other Microsoft 365 services (such as Microsoft Teams and OneDrive) and relevant enterprise systems. Manage SharePoint Online administrative settings in the Microsoft 365 environment as needed.
• Microsoft Copilot, Purview & Copilot Studio: Support the Microsoft Copilot environment across Microsoft 365 by partnering with Security, Compliance, and business stakeholders to drive readiness (content permissions/oversharing mitigation), governance, user enablement, and issue resolution. Help implement and align Microsoft Purview controls (e.g., sensitivity labels, retention, and DLP) to enable responsible Copilot use, and support Copilot Studio solutions by helping manage environments, connectors, publishing, and lifecycle changes for business-facing copilots.
• User Support & Training: Provide Tier-2/3 support for SharePoint-related issues, resolving user problems or escalating them when necessary. Create and update user documentation and best-practice guides, and conduct training sessions or workshops to help employees effectively use SharePoint features (sites, libraries, workflows, etc.) and adhere to governance policies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and tailor SharePoint solutions to business needs.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field preferred (e.g. Computer Science).
• SharePoint Administration Experience: Approximately 3 or more years of hands-on experience as a SharePoint Administrator in a medium to large enterprise environment, with a track record of managing SharePoint Online in Microsoft 365.
• SharePoint Expertise: Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture and functionality, including experience with site collections, document libraries, lists, content types, and workflows. Proven ability to configure SharePoint sites/pages, manage web parts, and maintain site taxonomy/metadata.
• Permissions & Security: Demonstrated experience administering SharePoint user permissions, security groups, and access controls to protect confidential data while enabling collaboration. Familiarity with Entra ID for managing user identities and access in SharePoint.
• Data Migration: Hands-on experience with SharePoint content migration projects – e.g. moving documents and data from network file shares or other platforms into SharePoint. Ability to use migration tools or scripts to ensure efficient, secure data transfer and proper metadata retention.
• Workflow Automation: Practical experience creating and managing workflow automations using Microsoft Power Automate and SharePoint’s built-in workflow engines. Capable of designing workflows for processes such as approvals, notifications, and content reviews to streamline operations.
• Microsoft 365 & PowerShell: Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem – especially SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive – and its administration tools. Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automating SharePoint administrative tasks (e.g., bulk updates, deployments, backups).
• Microsoft Copilot / Purview / Copilot Studio: Familiarity supporting Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment, including content permission hygiene, oversharing risk mitigation, and aligning Microsoft Purview controls (e.g., sensitivity labels, retention, and DLP) to enable responsible use. Exposure to Copilot Studio concepts such as environments, connectors, publishing, and lifecycle management for custom copilots is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support end-users and work with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and escalate to a senior member of the team as necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with end users, clients, and vendors.
• Ability to communicate and present ideas and recommendations effectively to IT management or other business stakeholders.
Preferred:
• Industry Certifications a plus (e.g. Network+, Azure Administrator Associate).
