Union Veterinary Associates is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and dependable entry-level Veterinary Assistant / Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone passionate about animal care and interested in building a career in veterinary medicine, even if they do not yet have direct veterinary experience.
The right candidate will be eager to learn, team-oriented, and willing to assist veterinarians and experienced technicians with patient care, client service, and daily hospital operations. Training will be provided for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the veterinary team with basic patient care, handling, and safe restraint during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Prepare patients, exam rooms, and treatment areas to support efficient daily hospital flow
- Maintain cleanliness and organization by cleaning instruments, cages, kennels, and workspaces
- Support clients with a professional, compassionate, and helpful experience throughout their visit
- Help with hospital operations by stocking supplies, assisting with sanitation and laundry, and following safety and compliance protocols
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior animal handling, kennel, daycare, customer service, or medical office experience is helpful but not required
Strong interest in veterinary medicine and animal care
Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Good communication and teamwork skills
