Primary Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a student assistant to support Dr. Vandiver's laboratory.The position provides administrative support through a variety of tasks, including filing, data entry, drafting correspondence, distributing reports, following up with vendors, obtaining signatures, processing mail, and assisting with general office operations.
This role offers a flexible work schedule designed to accommodate academic commitments, including class schedules and exams. It is an excellent opportunity for a detail oriented student to gain administrative and research support experience in a collaborative academic environment.
Salary: $18.50 - $27 per hour

Required:
  • High school Diploma
  • Excellent English writing skills in grammar, spelling and punctuation for all correspondence
  • Excellent English verbal communication skills to interact courteously and effectively with Center staff, faculty, patients and their family and volunteers.
  • Interpersonal skills to maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, administrators and personnel from other departments and outside vendors.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work effectively with absolute attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be a registered UCLA student

Preferred:
  • up to 1 year of previous laboratory or administrative experience

As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
